Welcome back to Andersen Acres! Today’s farm vlog is packed with real-life moments from our busy homesteading day. We kick things off with a quick chat about a property line dispute that’s been brewing with a neighbor—farm life isn’t always about cute animals! Then, we tend to a poor little barn kitten who’s come down with nestbox eye, a common condition in young animals that requires fast treatment.

Wildfire the barn cat and Whiskey the Goldendoodle both got a makeover as we shaved off some serious mats—spring grooming season is officially here. Of course, no day would be complete without a rabbit escape! After a little chase, all our bunnies were safely returned to their pens.

We also set up a cozy birthing space in my closet for Tequila, our Great Pyrenees, who is expecting puppies very soon. And to end the day, we made delicious homemade butter chicken rice for dinner.

Our Great Pyrenees, Tequila, is showing signs that her puppies are coming soon—her milk has come in, which means we're just a few days away from welcoming a litter of future livestock guardian dogs. We also worked on reinforcing the rabbit pen with extra wire in the eternal battle against our mischievous escape artist bucks. Will it work? We’ll see!

On the poultry side of things, we’ve moved a new batch of hatching eggs into lockdown. Duck eggs, chicken eggs, and quail eggs are now in the hatcher, and we’re eagerly counting down the days until we hear tiny peeps. Plus, we wrapped up the day with a delicious taco dinner—because farm work builds a serious appetite.
